Paul Jones House in Aurora holds part of our hearts and our history. As Wells alums and faithful volunteers to Wells College, we consider Paul Jones Preservation Alliance, Inc. to be an institution that will preserve, honor, and care for Paul Jones House, its property, and its legacy. We are dedicated to educating current and future generations about PJ House, Pauline Jones Wells class of 1918, and Wells College’s history in Aurora, NY.
Our vision is evolving and dependent on boundaries set by the village and the college. We consider PJ House to be a “place to land” in Aurora for those connected to Wells College, a welcome center. It is also a contributing structure to the Village of Aurora historic district, and is registered on both the State and National historic registers.
We hope to offer the opportunity to visit and tour the property; to house appropriate artifacts; to honor the story of Pauline Jones and the house that bears her name; to honor Wells alumnae and alumni, authors, artists, and award recipients; and to host speakers, events, and guests consistent with our vision.
We have incorporated Paul Jones House Preservation Alliance as a 501(c)3 charity, and are in the process of registering with the NYS Charities Bureau.
